SOMETHING

With life are the villains. With life are the heroes.

When I was a little girl I never enjoyed reading. I was fond of watching and being contented on what my eyes can see, but I became a changed person. I was in second year when all the negativity in the world came to me. School, friends, people, society, and even my family. My time was not enough to think of all the problems I was facing. But on the same school year, Shelley and Aerielle, my friends, introduced new friends to me. Books.

The first book I read was The Breadwinner which is a part of a trilogy by Deborah Ellis. It was a book about a girl named Parvana who pretended to be a boy during the Afghanistan war for her family to be able to eat and live. She pretended to be a boy just to live. She took the lead in earning a living for her family. She gave up everything just to be the breadwinner. A true hero. A real hero.

It was the first time I read a book and it was a great experience. It lifted up my whole being and inspired me to continue living in spite of all the hardships I was experiencing that time. Because Parvana did.

After reading The Breadwinner trilogy, I read other books. More books than I actually thought I could. Divergent,Insurgent, and Hopeless to name a few.

I never thought books would mean so much to me. They saved me from the wilderness life gave me. I was lost but books found me. Yes, they are tangible but they speak hope more than anything. The Bible for example. This amazing book of hope, life, and promises. Credits to the Author who made this.

That's a real hero. Someone or even something that inspires you to live no matter what. Something that gives you hope for the unknown and makes you ready for the inevitable. Books. They inspire me. They give me hope. They make me ready.
