All of us are blessed with talents and
abilities that are incomparable to other people. Whether we are academically
excellent or sporty, we are unique in our own little ways.
Academically excellence means being logical
and rational in anything. We often refer these people as thinkers. These people
are practical users of the concepts of knowledge and are the providers of
innovations to the world. A sporty person is a worker. He uses his
physical abilities and does sports very well. These two aren’t contradicting. Just
like religion and science, they aren’t contradicting simply because they are
unique.
Both academic excellence and being good in
sports are achieved through hard work and trust− hard work in terms of reading
and understanding for academics and training for athletics. Trust that you can
do what you think for both. Being academically inclined and sporty do not
really differ when we talk of achieving them.
To be honest, I am no good in sports. I
have tried several like volleyball and basketball but I did not excel. I just
know them. I do good maths and other subjects so I believe that I am more
academically excellent than sporty.
If only I could turn back time, I would probably choose to
be academically excellent. Why? It is because I believe that the world needs
intelligent people. Seeing the situation of the world right now, it needs
people to pacify things up and improve life more and I think, intelligent
people can do these. Of course, this doesn’t mean we don’t need sporty people.
They are vital parts of the society because of their influence to the people.
No matter who we are, whether intelligent or sporty, we are all
creations of God and we are unique. What matters most is our acceptance of
ourselves including our weaknesses and strengths.
